NONS SL660

    1. Lens compatibility (FD/Nikon F/EF)

    Canon FD lenses
They work well on all our cameras with related adapters. There are 2 kinds of adapters for FD lens:
    - Mechanical adapter: Cannot make the lens focus to infinity
    - Optical adapter: Could compensate for the flange distance to make it focus to infinity

    Nikon F lenses
AI/AIS-EOS is the Nikon F adapter. Please refer to the video in the manual to remove the Nikon F adapter.
The key point is to rotate the adapter clockwise while pressing the lever to unlock the pin. Moreover, we recommend looking for help from a local camera store if you still feel it is hard to remove it.

    Canon EF lenses
You could directly mount the EF lenses on SL660 but the aperture will always work fully open for the Canon EF lenses. We recommend manual aperture lenses for better experience. There are also manual EF lenses such as Laowa, Samyang etc.

Since the SL660 provides no electronic signals for lens control, autofocus and auto aperture features of the lenses are disabled. These lenses will operate at their fixed aperture only. For better experience, manual lenses such as NONS 35mm f2.4 and 50mm f1.8 lenses are recommended.

    2. Which lens to choose (35mm vs 50mm)
35mm Lens offers a wider field of view, perfect for street photography, environmental portraits, and lightweight travel. It's ideal for capturing scenes with context or in tight spaces.

50mm Lens is closer to the natural human perspective with minimal distortion, excels in portrait photography and creates beautiful background blur for artistic shots.

Purchasing both lenses together is a great idea! They complement each other, covering most daily shooting scenarios while saving on shipping costs.

    3. EF lens aperture control
Original Canon EF lenses cannot adjust aperture manually. Third-party EF lenses with manual aperture control are available. We recommend adapting other vintage lenses instead - they're more affordable and offer diverse shooting options.

    4. Does it have a light meter?
The camera has a global light meter which operated similar to semi shutter priority mode. The metering result is aperture number displayed via the small monitor on the top based on current shutter speed. It already takes into account the crop factor of the internal optical module. You could also adjust the lens aperture by your prefrence based on the measured result.

    5. Can full-frame lenses cover the 645 format?
Yes, they can cover it, but depending on the lens focal length, there may be some vignetting and distortion at the edges.

    6. Flash sync
Please follow the steps to try to trigger the flash again:
    - Mount the flash properly by pushing the flash to the front end of the hotshoe
    - Check the contact status of the trigger plate
    - Turn ON the flash and select Manual mode if it has
    - Wait the charging indicator light up
    - Turn ON the camera and wind the shutter
    - Press the shutter button then the flash will work

More flash info, see the flash tips.

    7. Underexposure indoor / Overexposure outdoor
We recommend a slower shutter speed such as 30 or 60 or fill lights when taking photos indoors.

For outdoor overexposure, try faster shutter speed 250, stop down aperture or use ND filter.

    8. Screen not displaying
Please try to rotate the function dial from null to any speed and then check the working status. The screen only works when a certain shutter speed is selected.

    9. Cable release / shutter button removable?
The SL660 is available for mechanical cable release. The thread of the shutter button is a standard type and will fit general shutter button caps and mechanical cable releases.

You could uninstall the shutter button cap by rotating it counterclockwise and then reuse the thread for cable release. We recommend using the 40cm one to trigger the shutter smoothly. The longer one may be too soft to release the shutter.

    10. Does it have an optical viewfinder?
Yes, the SL660 has an optical viewfinder.

    11. Can I adapt Leica M lenses?
Not available for Leica M lenses due to its shorter flange distance compared with the EF lens. Since the flange distance is shorter than the camera body mount, the lens cannot focus to infinity.

    12. Will there be an SL660 II or wide format version?
We do not have upgrade plans for the SL660 at the moment, but we do have plans for other types of instant cameras. Consider subscribing to our site newsletters to stay updated with the latest news, thank you.

    13. Battery charging
Please try to charge the product with a USB-A to USB-C cable same as the inbox cable. It works with 5W or 10W adapters or power bank. The power system of the product is not available for quick charge protocols such as QC or PD (usually works with USB-C to USB-C cable).

The indicator beside the charging port will be red when charging and turn green when charging complete. The product is not in charge status if the indicator did not light up.

    14. Battery durability
The built-in cell, provided by top-tier supplier, is designed to retain 80% of its rated capacity after 1000 full charging cycles. The camera can take more than 100 photos on a single charge, ensuring reliable durability.

The battery is custom-designed and integrated into the product body. We do not recommend disassembling or replacing it yourself.
